Akina has been living alone in Tokyo for three years. She’s starting to run into trouble. It’s been ten months since she graduated from vocational school and the financial support from her parents stopped. She makes use of her distinctive “anime” voice for work, but she doesn’t earn enough from that work alone to make a living. Getting jobs is a struggle and they’re irregular, making it hard to balance with other part-time work. She’s been living quite poorly and is beginning to think she may have reached her limit. In the first place, Akina doesn’t love voice-based work enough to pursue it even if it meant living in poverty. People kept telling her her voice was cute, and since she didn’t have a particular career she wanted, she ended up on that path. She’s lived so far with that weak resolve and even she thinks of herself as half-hearted. She actually wants to go back home and live while doing local part-time jobs. She criticizes herself: will she give up halfway again? She could quit, but her small pride won’t allow it. Any resolve to “endure even if it’s hard” shatters when she actually faces the situation... Today’s part-time job is different from the usual ones. Even though she’s half-hearted, she decided to do her best.
